Anyone done this? VS 4b in the book, comments on Rockfax suggest that Eastern Grit may have mixed up the photo topo with that of Titanic Direct HVS. Anyway, I tried Titanic after looking up at it dubiously and deciding "ah well if it's 4b in the book, clearly there's some great holds that I just can't see from the ground".
Cue a sketchy traverse to a pathetic gibbering cowering foetal position, stuffing three bits of gear into a break in the hope that one will hold a lower off, followed by ignoble retreat and my second ab of the weekend.
VS 4b my arse!
Had earlier skipped up two weird HS 5a routes (with rather less pro than the grade might imply) so my head was together...though underdeveloped footwork may be to blame. Still, looks fierce at the grade. Am I just being a wuss?! Bailed on 4 VSs since the non-dinner meet, succeeded on none _________________ "I'm into all SORTS of radical shit..." Dr G, May 2009 |

Photo in gallery now. Is the VS 4b meant to go up that slightly overhanging crack, or round the corner?! _________________ "I'm into all SORTS of radical shit..." Dr G, May 2009 |
